EAST LINTON GALA DAY!
Parade:
The theme is JUNGLE So get creative, don your best WILD costumes and get into the spirit by joining our parade through the village, with prizes for the best dressed and best float! Gather from 12pm at grassy area down from Bostock on Dunbar Road. Costume judging will take place 12:15pm with parade starting 12:30pm and processing through the village, finishing at Memorial Park.
Coronation:
After the parade and before the park festivities kick off, it’s time to crown our Gala Queen and Gala King, and celebrate the children of our 2026 Gala Court. Join us at the main stage area at 1pm for the coronation, speeches and piping!
Party in the Park:
Local piper Max Smith will kick things off playing for us during the parade and Court Coronation. Later in the afternoon we will have music from Seton Shoals and dancing from Edinburgh Dance Adademy in our Entertainment Tent, where there is also a licenced bar. Then why not head over to the Bowling Club at 4pm for some karaoke!
In our kids area we will have lots of fun rides and games to keep littles of all ages entertained! This includes a Giant Inflatables, Bouncy Castles, Sweetie Stall, Bungee Trampolines, Mini Zoo, Toddler Soft Play, Facepaiting ... and much more! Purchase a Gala Kids Wristband for unlimited access to the FUN all afternoon.
The infamous Gala Tea Tent will be offering hot drinks, sandwiches and yummy home baking all afternoon. Or, for hot food, head across to the Gala BBQ area. All profit from the Tea Tent and BBQ will support the Gala. We also have some fab food providers for additional treats - including ‘Jamie’s Backyard Pizza’ and ‘Tommy To You’ Ice Cream Van.
In our Market Trader Tent you can find a range of small businesses and creatives selling some amazing products and yummy treats. Go along, have a nosy and support local!
Traprain Law Race:
A regular feature of the gala since the 80s! This 10.4k race follows the riverside along to the Law and then a steep rock scramble up the east ridge, and back into East Linton! Sign up here. £7.50 entry.
